You will want to double check just to be sure
that the Microsoft VM/Java permissions setting is ticked on Medium
safety as it is inside the red box in the example below:
Next, you will want to scroll down to the
Miscellaneous section where you will enable both *Allow
script-initiated windows without size or position controls constraint
and *Allow webpages to use protocols for active content as I have
indicated inside the red box in the example below . . .
.
You may have already previously changed this box since
it is the rule that allows your pop-up stationery to work in
Outlook Express. I just wanted to double check on it with you
!

Next, look down near the bottom of the box
where you will find a white box that says Medium-High in
it. This box is to reset the custom security setting.
Click on the arrow next to it and change the setting to
Medium and then click on Reset. Say yes when asked by prompt if
you are sure that you want to change the
setting. Changing this setting to Medium will
make several changes to the ActiveX controls settings for you as well as
some other changes to other sections so that you will not need to
make them. Click on OK at the bottom of the box for the next
step . .
Once you have made your corrections to this point, you
will need to click on the Advanced tab shown below, check the first 2
boxes in the Security section
* Allow active content from CD's to run on My Computer
* and *Allow active content to run in files on My Computer * as shown
inside the red box in the example below . . .
Next, scroll down to the Java (Sun) and
Un-Check the box for
* Use JRE 1.6.0_14 for <applet> (requires
restart)
as shown inside the red box in the example below . . .
Then, Check the next 3 boxes under Microsoft
VM
*Java console enabled (requires restart)
*Java logging enabled and
*JIT compiler for virtual machine enabled (requires
restart)
shown inside the red box in the example below . .
.
Finally, you will go to the General tab and click on
OK again as indicated in the example below . . .
When you have completed all of
your changes you will need to restart your computer for the changes to
take effect. Please be sure to make the same changes that we made
above in your Outlook Express and to set your custom level in your
Internet Properties to Medium in Internet Explorer as we did for
the other Windows versions. If the
above changes don't allow you to see applets, try rebooting and
look again . . .
These changes should help you to view applets on the
websites as well as in your applet stationery emails that are coded
in new way with the <IFRAME> tags when other members are using
that method. Here is our link again for Viewing
Applets in E-Mail Using <IFRAME> Coding for those of
you who would like to investigate this option further.
However, since you are using
the Microsoft VM program to view your applets, it will
be business as usual for you as far as viewing and coding your
applet stationery creations.
For those of
you who have
Windows 98
(1st or 2nd Edition), Windows 2000, or Windows XP (SP1),
you can find assistance on the

Applets Help Page 1
I hope that this information has been helpful and will solve some
of your problems. I am amending the zip files on the group site and
adding the applet.html files into each of the zip files and
<IFRAME> information for the XP and Vista users. It will take
some time, however, to finish amending the site and group files, so
please be patient.
Together we will figure it out.
Hugs,
Karen
