ANGELFIRE
On the right
hand side in your file manager at angelfire,
you will
see......a tools center.
Click on
HTML Gear and
then look on the left for
Guest Gear
and finally in
the next
selection click on get
gear......
.
This will
bring you to the actual selections you
need to make
for your guest book..
You will
need to check off your choices here for how
you want
your guest book to appear......
please
remember to put a dot beside allow the tags.....
you can
also, check notify me by e-mail for when
someone
signs the book, so you will know.....
and you can
even compose a message to send out.
when you are all finished, you
will get a code.
All you need
to do is paste that code into your
script
where you want it to be.
We can add an image or change the
size of the font later.......
GEOCITIES
With Geocities, you will find the
guest book on
the file manager
page, but near the bottom on the
right, click Quick Links/Add-Ons.
you will come to this page,
from here you
can add your guest book in
the same way as above. Also, you can add a counter for your
page.....
You will get a code for either
of them, or both if
you want them.....Simply copy and
paste it to
your webpage where you want
it.
I would paste all my codes to a
notepad
document
and save it,
in case you make a mistake.
That way you will always have it
and not have to
go back and do it
again......
TRIPOD
Tripod lets you add right from
your page editor.
At the top, simply click on the
down arrow
beside choose a page
add-on....
Then click on Guest Gear which
will take you to their page, then click add gear at the bottom and
follow the same instructions for the other sites.
It really is just a matter of
picking and
choosing
what you want to use and
have apply
to your guestbook. Not that
difficult, really.
I hope this
little tutorial has
helpedyou,
even
in some small way, to get a guest book
set
up for on your
website.
If you have any problems,
please don't hesitate
to contact Karen, Shari or
any of the group members for help.......and also, please be sure to
let
me know when you
have your guest book set
up on your site......so I can
visit.
Hugs,
Karen
