This is not a
really difficult applet to do. However, it is a bit touchy.
For instance, some of the sites change the class name to lower case, it will not
allow that. If this happens with your site, simply rename the class
file to Wave.class.....
I would also suggest using an image with a
plain color, both around the image and that same color in the <td> behind
it, as you will see the exposed color when it moves from the background below if
you don't, and you will probably not like the effect.
The image
that Larry chose is a gif image, surrounded by black, and it worked out
perfectly. I tried the same image as a jpg, and it also worked perfectly. But,
when i tried a full size image, it did not.
For Stationery
Use :
<CENTER><APPLET
codeBase=" http://your website addy/ " code=Wave.class
width=225 height=300><PARAM NAME="horizmotion"
VALUE="0.02"><PARAM NAME="image" VALUE=" http:/your
website addy/applets/image name.gif " >
</APPLET></CENTER>
Notice that the difference
between the two is the use of the codeBase......and how you would put in your
website addys. In the stationery, you need the complete addy, however in
the webpage, the shorter version is all that is needed.
For Webpages Use
:
<CENTER><APPLET
code=Wave.class
width=225 height=300><PARAM NAME="horizmotion"
VALUE="0.02"><PARAM NAME="image" VALUE=" image
name.gif " >
</APPLET></CENTER>
Good Luck in putting
together your own Wave Applets. I am looking forward to seeing your
Creations. Thanks to Larry for letting us use his creation for our
tutorial. Good Job, Larry !
